AHCA Response to
Requests About Lehigh Regional
The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has responded to requests for information about the Lehigh Regional Medical Center (LRMC) announced plans.
Two questions were posed to for AHCA concerning LRMC’s Certificate of need (CON) request and how can residents of Lehigh Acres complain to AHCA about losing this facility?
The following is from Shelisha Coleman Press Secretary Agency for Health Care Administration.
Comment from AHCA concerning LRMC’s CON request:
Organizations that submit a letter of intent are not required to follow up with an application, so the Agency won’t know until close of business on March 6th whether they actually intend to move forward. The Agency is not likely to receive anything but a shell application on March 6, 2013. It is typical for applicants to submit their detailed proposal on the omissions deadline, which will be April 10th if they decide to proceed. The Agency will make a decision on June 7, 2013.
How can the residents of Lehigh Acres complain to AHCA about losing this facility?
The Agency takes information from any interested party, either pro or con, until close of business (5 pm) on the omissions deadline (Wednesday, April 10,, 2013). Residents can send letters to Jeff Gregg, Director, Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis – MS 16, Agency for Health Care Administration, 2727 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32308 or email to jeffrey.gregg@ahca.myflorida.com.
