Fire near Heron Ponds Apartments

According to Florida Forestry officials, a three acre fire that broke out a wooded area across from the Heron Ponds Apartments is being called suspicious.

The fire broke out just after 4 p.m. according to Interim Fire Chief John Wayne.

No one was injured and the fire didn’t threaten any structures.Officials say the fire is being considered suspicious mainly because there’s no real reason why a fire would start in that area.According to onsite officials, there was an old homeless campground in the area, and they aren’t ruling that out as a cause.A Fire Marshal will be on scene tomorrow to investigate the cause.
