Butler Finishes 28th in 1-meter Diving Prelims at NCAA Diving Zones
Senior Maegan Butler (Orangeburg, N.Y./Tappan Zee/FAU) of the FGCU swimming and diving team, took 28th place in the 1-meter preliminaries at the 2013 NCAA Diving Zone B on Tuesday at the at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
Butler finished with a score of 226.55 in the prelims as the top 18 scores qualified for the finals of the event, as Rachel Mumma of N.C. State won the finals with a score of 599.40.
Butler placed 35th in the 3-meter board event Monday with a score of 220.30.
Butler had a memorable senior campaign for the Eagles, earning the CCSA’s Most Outstading Diver of the Meet for the second consecutive year. Butler won both the 1-meter and 3-meter board, and set a meet record in the 3-meter event at the 2013 CCSA Championships. The Orangeburg, N.Y product, also garnered four CCSA Diver of the Week awards.
The Green and Blue finished the regular season with a 9-2 dual meet record (4-0 CCSA) and won their fifth-straight CCSA Championship.
