Chamber Elects
New Board

The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce will welcome two new members and three returning members to the board of directors.

The members of the GLACC recently voted on those who would serve on the board as the Class of 2015.

Returning to the board to serve a second three-year term: David Deetscreek, Mirror Lakes Golf Club, current Immediate Past-Chair; Cheryl McConahy, SunTrust Bank, current treasurer; and Nathan Stout, J. Nathan Stout, CPA PA.

Joining the board for the first time are Steve Thomas, Edward Jones Investment; and Dr. Monique Wensch, DC, Specific Care Chiropractic. The two new board members will take the seats now held by Laurie Jerriey, Preferred Community Bank; and Joe Pearson, Get Fit with Joe, both of whom did not seek re-election.

The Class of 2015 will join the 10 members of the Classes of 2013 and 2014 to make up the 15-member board of directors. These members include: Class of 2013 – Mike Arcentales, Arcentales Insurance Agency; Joanie Jeannette, Lehigh Regional Medical Center; Michael Neven, Lots Guys Inc.; and Daryn Patterson, Anderson-Patterson Cremation & Funeral Services. Class of 2014 – Cindy Dodd, Reliance Bank, current Interim Chair; Vickie Hay, Century 21 Sunbelt Realty, current Secretary of the Board; Al Deleon, Al Deleon & Associates Inc.; Dr. Alaa El-Gendy, Florida Lung & Sleep Associates; Fred Elliott, Coldwell Banker-Preferred Properties; and Tonda Soisson-Lawson, Brown and Brown Insurance.

Board members serve three-year terms and are elected by the membership of the chamber. Board members are responsible for setting policy for the chamber, ensuring that the organization is meeting the needs of its member businesses and working together with the membership to enhance the civic, economic and social welfare of the Greater Lehigh Acres community.

The newly elected board members will take their seats on Jan. 1, 2013, and will be formally installed at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Gala on Jan. 26 at Pelican Preserve.
