Lehigh spring purchase comes before the conservation lands acquisition and stewardship advisory committee next week.  Leadership is needed from Lehigh to impress the leadership of 20/20.  The criteria and ranking committee don’t seem to understand the significance of this property to Lee County.

Please plan to attend and bring someone with you.  If you absolutely can’t attend, please send someone in your place to show ”one voice” support for this most important acquisition for Lehigh acres.

Date:    Thursday, September 13, 2012

Time:     5:30pm

Place:  public works building, 1500 Monroe Street, Ft. Myers first floor meeting room

We must convince this board to recommend the purchase of this most significant property (1) environmental protection (2) affects potable drinking water (3) archeological significance (4) part of “old” Florida. (5) only spring like this in lee county.

If you have a Lehigh spring t-shirt, bring it along.

This is the right acquisition for 20/20, it is the right thing to do and now is the right time to do it.  Don’t let anyone confuse this purchase with possible economic development or nearby planned parks.  This is only about purchasing and preserving this land for future generations.  20/20 must consider this purchase as it fits their vision and mission statement for Lee County.
