Edison Festival of Light
Grand Parade Feb. 16th
This year is the 75th anniversary of the Edison Festival of Light, a three-week celebration of Thomas Edison. The rather large schedule of events (Click Here for full list of events) highlights with a much anticipated grand parade which will be held on Saturday, February 16th, 2013.
Named as the largest night parade in the Southeast year after year, the Grand Parade is a two-hour extravaganza featuring national participants and local marching bands, floats, local government and law enforcement officials, clowns and much, much more.
The parade brings the entire Southwest Florida community out in celebration of the life and achievements of our local winter resident, Thomas Edison. Spectators come from near and far to enjoy this event and often begin marking their viewing spot weeks in advance!
Although the event is free for spectators, local non-profit groups sell reserved seats and VIP tickets are sold in the Edison Festival of Light office (which include food and beverages). Visit the Tickets page to find out more!
Parade begins at 7pm in Downtown Fort Myers. CLICK HERE for route map.
