FHP and Medical Examiner: Car was not involved in man’s death

The accident at Lake Drive was investigated as a hit and run. When the FHP troopers responded to a man found dead in the roadway Wednesday night. But the autopsy reports told a different story.

When troopers arrived, the body of 81-year-old Robert Salmon had already been transported. What they were left with was a bloody roadway and they say they had to rule out every possibility.

Less than a day later, what was originally thought by FHP to be a hit and run has been determined a natural death.
