Four Injured in Crash Involving Bicycles and a Motorcycle
Three children and one adult were taken to the hospital after a crash involving bicycles and a motorcycle.
The accident happened at 5:19 p.m. on Gretchen Avenue S.
Due to the nature of the incident a detective with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit responded to investigate.
The preliminary investigation revealed two bicycles and a non-street legal motorcycle were involved in the crash. Two juveniles had been riding on one bicycle and one juvenile had been riding a separate bicycle on the roadway. An adult driving the motorcycle on the roadway struck both of the bicycles injuring himself and the three juveniles.
The juveniles, 15, 13 and 10, have been treated and released. The adult, identified as 21-year-old Julian Lewis of Fort Myers, has been admitted and is expected to recover. None of those involved in the crash were wearing helmets.
