East Lee County junior quarterback Winfred Ward completed 9-of-25 passes for 103 yards with two interceptions. Senior Bryant Richardson paced the Jaguars with 40 yards rushing.

Dunbar opens the season with a 1-0 record, while East Lee begins at 0-1 after the non-district game.

The Fort Myers High School football team didn’t exactly turn in its best performance, but Friday’s effort was more than enough to knock off visiting Lehigh, 29-12 on Sam Sirianni Night at Edison Stadium.

“We made a lot of mistakes but the good thing is they’re correctable mistakes,” said Green Wave coach Sam Sirianni Jr., whose team committed 15 penalties for 143 yards.

Lehigh, which dropped to 0-14 all-time against Fort Myers, suffered from costlier errors, turning the ball over three times, including a fumble at the Green Wave 1-yard line.
