How Can the Community of Lehigh Acres Speak Up On The Hospital Issue?

Subject: Lehigh Regional

I received a message from Jim (Nathan) yesterday asking to provide you some information regarding the public input process related to the Certificate of Need (CON). As Jim (Nathan) explained, the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) is the agency that denies or approves CON applications. Although there are many factors that weigh into their decisions, AHCA does provide consideration to the public comments it receives.
There are a couple of ways the Lehigh community can voice their opinions. First, there will likely be a public hearing on the CON applications sometime in April. A public hearing must be requested and then AHCA will schedule a time and location (locally) to let the public share their views. People can also write AHCA directly to voice an objection or offer support of a project. They should address the letter to:
Jeffrey N. Gregg, Chief
Bureau of Health Facility Regulation
James McLemore, Supervisor
Certificate of Need Office
Agency for Health Care Administration
2727 Mahan Drive, Bldg. 3
Tallahassee, FL 32308
The letters should be sent to AHCA before the application deadline which is April 10th. Once we hear from the State, we will let you know when the public hearing is scheduled to take place. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.
