Sergeant Jason G. Amores was born on 26 June 1981 in Naples, Florida. He graduated from Lehigh Senior High School in June 1999. In November 2004, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island and then to School of Infantry – East to train as a Rifleman. On 13 May 2005 Sergeant Amores reported to 2d Battalion, 6th Marines and was trained as a squad automatic rifleman. He deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in September 2005. In April 2006 Sergeant Amores returned to the United States and redeployed in March 2007 to Fallujah, Iraq as a Team Leader. He returned to the United States in October 2007 and was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant in May 2008. He deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit in August 2008 as a Squad Leader. During this deployment, Sergeant Amores was attached to Combined Task Force 151 and participated in counter-piracy operations. In June 2009, Sergeant Amores was transferred to Company L, 3d Battalion, 5th Marines where he served as a squad leader. He completed a winter package at the Marine Corps Mountain Warefare Training Center, Bridgeport, California and Enhanced Mojave Viper in preparaton for deployment to Afghanistan. He deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan in September 2010 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 10.2. Sergeant Amores’ hobbies included reloading ammunition, shooting, hunting, fishing, cooking, and relaxing on the couch. Sergeant Amores’ Personal awards include the Bronze Star with Combat ‘V’, the Purple Heart, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars and Combat Action Ribbon with one gold star. Sergeant Amores is survived by his wife Jennifer Amores, his son Korbin, his daughter Violet, his father Jay Amores, his mother Beverly Middleton, his stepfather Curt Middleton who raised him since he was 3 1/2, his brother Joshua and Jeremiah and his sisters Shoshana Amores, Emrald Folk, Rebecca and Samantha Middleton
