By Ben Smell – Special correspondent for the Lehigh Acres Gazette
“Holy Crap……. This Fire Commission is really messed up and cannot be trusted,” said Jeffery Scott a resident of Lehigh Acres
Commissioner Kruse is under investigation by FDLE …. September 2016 Fire Board Meeting Kruse admitted that people have offered her bribes and kickbacks as a commissioner but has refused to tell law enforcement who these people are. In the same rant, Kruse mentions that other fire commissioners may have taken bribes and kickbacks also.
Kruse cannot legally vote for this year’s budget it will give her son the fire fighter a raise in pay. Kruse voted for the union contract (some time ago) or vote for the actual budget both cannot vote for both items. She has to recuse herself from the actual voting of the 2017-2018 budget or could face Ethics violations.
Florida law: A public official may not appoint, employ, promote, or advance, or advocate for appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement, in or to a position in the agency in which the official is serving or over which the official exercises jurisdiction or control any individual who is a relative of the public official.
Commissioner Carter a transsexual male that has a concealed weapons permit that has been arrested on Battery and Domestic Violence. Also according to two verified sources, Carter is being treated by multiple psychiatrists. Court records show that Carter has been treated by Ruth Cooper Services.
According to court records, Carter tried to sue the Publisher of the Lehigh Acres Gazette back in September 2016 and listed the Fire Board Attorney as her personal attorney which is a conflict of interest for the attorney and is against the law for Carter. By the way, the Judge threw the case against our Publisher and her out of court. But Florida Department of Ethics is looking into a case against Carter.
Commissioner Cunningham since elected to office … she talks about her newer vehicle and is having work done on her residents ….. “My husband is disabled and a retired service member. We are on a fixed income,” Debra Cunningham said Sept 23, 2014, to NBC2 News.
Well, we just want to say hmmm show us the money trail……….
Commissioner Cunningham and her husband do not pay the Fire Fee Assessment but recently Cunningham and other two commissioners voted to spend $168,000 to notify citizens of Lehigh Acres about the raise your fire fee assessment.
“Take care of our firefighters, take care of our community and get your hands out of our wallet,” Cunningham said Sept 23, 2014, to NBC2 News.
FDLE stated all three of this commissioners will be looked out including former commissioners that were on the board.
