LCSO Targeted Lehigh Acres
with a DUI checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint targeted Lehigh Acres Friday night through early Saturday morning resulting in multiple DUI arrests.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office set up the checkpoint beginning at 10 p.m. at Sunshine and 11th Street Southwest.  In all 504 vehicles traveling north and south on Sunshine Boulevard were checked.

Besides of the DUI arrests one driver was arrested for having a suspended license and two others for not having a valid driver’s license.  19 other citations were issued that evening.
