Lee Commissioner Plans
To Delay Impact Fee Suspension
Lee County Commissioner Larry Kiker plans to delay the public hearing and any vote on suspending impact fees for approximately 30 days.
In an email to the other four commissioners this morning, Kiker said:
“The motion would be to defer the public hearing until we can discuss other options at the next Management and Planning meeting, including greatly reducing the impact fees in lieu of suspension, with the item being brought back to the Board for a vote at the March 12th Board meeting.
“I’d also like further information from staff regarding the impact on various cities and their impact fee interlocal agreements and the legal ramifications on impact fee credits of a reduction as opposed to a suspension. Additionally, I’d like more information on the budgetary impacts of reduction versus suspension, as well as other information as appropriate.”
The commissioners are scheduled to vote on suspending the fees Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in commissioner chambers, downtown Fort Myers.
