Lee County Commission
Suspends Impact Fee Resolution
The Lee County Commission unanimously delayed a vote on suspending impact fees, as support for the measure wavers through the commission.
Instead of suspending impact fees, Commissioner Larry Kiker said the commission should consider reducing them.
Commissioner John Manning proposed a two year moratorium on impact fees last month. Manning move was initially supported by Commissioners Pendergrass and Kiker.
However, in a letter released Saturday, Kiker announced his plans to put off today’s vote.
Despite a 30-day diversion to a vote, members of the public who turned out for today’s meeting are still taking to the podium to speak out for or against the proposed suspension.
