Lee Memorial Health System Installs 2013 Board of Directors
Lee Memorial Health System installed its 2013 Board of Directors at its annual organizational business meeting held on Jan. 8 in the boardroom at Gulf Coast Medical Center.
Four new members joined the elected Board of Directors. They are:
Jessica Carter, a health and wellness coach with multiple degrees in Exercise Science. Carter is an Associate Member of the Lee Republican Women Federated. She is also involved in youth ministry as well as mission trips to Guatemala and Ecuador through McGregor Baptist Church.
Sanford N. Cohen, M.D., is former Chair of the Pediatrics Department at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Chief of Pediatrics for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He also served as dean and the university’s provost before retiring as a professor. Cohen served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and has an extensive history of community involvement in pediatric health care issues and research organizations.
David F. Collins, a mortgage banker for over twenty years, has served as a board member for PACE Center for Girls of Lee County, and treasurer for the PACE Capital Campaign. Collins has also taken part in the Executive Leadership Team for American Heart Association Heart Walk and is an AHA Red Tie Society Member.
Stephanie L. Meyer, BSN, R.N., a Registered Nurse since 1999, has held the position of Clinical Care Coordinator for Cape Coral Hospitalists for nearly seven years.
The new members join Stephen R. Brown, M.D., and Marilyn Stout, incumbents who were reelected to their seats; and Richard B. Akin, Nancy M. McGovern, R.N., M.S.M., Diane Champion and Chris Hansen, current board members whose seats were not up for election.
The election of new Board Officers also took place at the annual organizational meeting. The results are:
