Lehigh Acres Man Accused of Impregnating 11-Year-Old Skips Court Date
A Collier County Judge has issued an arrest warrant for a Lehigh Acres man who didn’t show up Wednesday for the second day of his trial in Collier County.
CCSO and LCSO officials are searching for Jean Schamma Leandre, who faces two charges of sexual battery that carry a potential life sentence. Out on $200,000 bond since February 2010, Leandre had never missed a court hearing, his lawyer James Zonas said, but he couldn’t be found Wednesday.
Leandre was arrested in October 2009, accused of having sex more than 10 times during the course of several years with the girl, who said she was first raped at age 5 or 6, a criminal complaint said. The girl became pregnant at age 11 and subsequently had an abortion, according to the complaint.
The Lehigh Acres Gazette is withholding the girl’s name and relation to Leandre to protect her identity.

I really hope they catch that guy. Here is a case with a potential life sentence and they let him out on bond. He clearly has a moral failure. I remember a guy up in North Carolina that molested his girl friend’s young daughter and it took years to just get him tried. We need these people to be in Prison, not in a suit with a lawyer playing the system. Let me add, I know of a local guy that robs houses and he got away with it by hiring a lawyer for himself and never considered paying restitution and the Judges (2 of them) let him off with community service. He hauls away appliances and sells them to people moving in where the appliances are missing!!!! Seriously, the Sheriff and Deputies are pissed with Judges and lenient sentencing because they have to spend a fortune catching these people over and over again. Every now and then a Deputy will get hurt catching a repeat offender and of course pedophiles are seldom cured.
