Motorcyclist Dies in Crash

A Lehigh Acres motorcyclist died in a crash involving two vehicles on State Road 82.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Robert D Drumheller was declared dead at the scene at State Road 82 east of Harcourt Avenue at 5:47 p.m. Sunday evening

Bianca Crystal Melchor, of Naples, suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. The driver of a third vehicle, Jackson Pierre, Fort Myers, or that vehicle’s passenger suffered any injuries.

According to the FHP report, Melchor drove her vehicle over the double, yellow-painted, center lane divider lines and entered the eastbound lane of SR-82. Her vehicle then sideswiped the Lexus being driven by Pierre. Melchor’s vehicle continued westbound in the eastbound lane and then struck Drumheller’s motorcycle with the front portion of the vehicle.

The investigation is pending.

   Was this Sunday or Monday because Monday afternoon arounf this time the highway was closed in both direction and a ambulsnce was seen leaving the scene at high speed and lights flashing.
