Lehigh Acres Chamber Names
New Interim President / CEO
The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce announced today that Inke Baker will be the new interim president/CEO of the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce Inc. The board of directors voted Inke in the new position at the Nov. 30 board of director’s retreat.
Baker has been with the Chamber for over three years and worked as executive assistant during this time for two former presidents of the chamber. Baker is a resident of Lehigh Acres since 2002 and is a past president of the Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres. She is also currently the vice president of the Lehigh Acres Architectural Review Board and a 2010 graduate of the Leadership Lehigh program. Before coming to Lehigh Acres, Baker worked over 17 years in the IT industry in Europe and is experienced in sales, marketing and customer service.
Chamber Cancels
Diamonds Concert
Certain activities in recent weeks have led to the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce to cancel the previously announced Christmas concert presented by the 50s and 60s Rock’n Roll singing group, the Diamonds. The concert was scheduled for Dec. 8, 2012, at Lehigh Senior High School. All pre-sold tickets will be refunded at the chamber’s office located at 25 Homestead Road #41 Lehigh Acres, Florida.
The recent resignation of Chamber Director Gary Bright and other concerns has prompted the board of directors to schedule a retreat to discuss the organization’s future direction according to Past President David Deetscreek.
Bright Has Resigned
From Greater Lehigh Chamber
The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce has announced that effective November 15, 2012, Gary Bright has resigned as President/CEO of the Lehigh Acres Chamber. Bright has served as the Chamber’s President/CEO since November 2011.
Until further notice, Inke Baker will be running the daily operations of the Chamber. On a Board of Directors Retreat on November 30th a possible replacement for the President/CEO position will be discussed.
