One Lehigh Acres Motorcyclist
Killed, another one Injured

Eric Daniel Pimentel Santiago of Lehigh Acres died on the scene early this morning and Luis Manel Bermudez Santiago was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries. Neither of the motorcyclists was wearing helmets according to the Fort Myers Police spokesman. Also neither man had a license to ride a motorcycle.

FMPD stated the crash was reported about 2 a.m.. In the preliminary investigation the Fort Myers Police spokesman indicates that the motorcyclists were both heading east bound on Colonial Boulevard at speeds of more than 100 mph when they lost control and collided. According FMPD and Florida Highway Patrol alcohol could have played a factor in the crash and death.

Colonial Boulevard reopened around 7:00 a.m.
