A Poker Run was hosted by the Lehigh Acres VFW Post 4174. The Poker Run is to benefit Jeanette Smith.
Smith has stepped forward to donate a kidney to Donna Martineau is currently on kidney dialysis.
Martineau’s Medicare will pay for the transplant surgery, but Smith’s day to day living expenses are not covered. Smith will not be able to return to work for as long as three months.
Belinda Farris said if anyone else would like to donate the VFW has setup a fund.
80 bikes participated in this event today.
Martineau and Smith’s surgery is scheduled for September 27, 2012
