Lehigh Acres Relay For Life Exceeds Fundraising Goal
It was amazing evening, said Andy Reisinger Chairman of the 2013 event. Tonight was the Wrap-Up Party for the Relay for Life of Lehigh Acres, celebrating all the hard work and fundraising to put up a fight against cancer. Before tonight, Lehigh Acres Relay was able to raise just over $ 39,000, which is phenomenal. However, Lehigh Acres Relay was just about $ 3,000 short of our goal of $ 42,000. All teams, committee members and volunteers did an outstanding job, working hard to make this event a full success, said Reisinger. (more…)

What Makes a Relay Event Special?
Many moments create the unique Relay experience. One of those key moments happen at the Lehigh Acres event when Kevin Gourley took a photograph of Elaine Little and her granddaughter.
Mrs. Little is starting treatment next week for cancer. And these is what Relay for Life is all about.
Survivors Lap
During the Survivors Lap, all cancer survivors at the event take the first lap around the track, celebrating their victory over cancer while cheered on by the other participants who line the track. Relay For Life events also recognize and celebrate caregivers, who give time, love, and support to their friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers facing cancer.
Luminaria Ceremony
The Luminaria Ceremony takes place after dark, so we can remember people we have lost to cancer, honor people who have fought cancer in the past, and support those whose fight continues. Candles are lit inside of personalized bags and are placed around the Relay track as glowing tributes to those who’ve been affected by cancer.
Funds raised during these event help pay for the local Hope Lodge, Road to Recovery Program, Look Good…Feel Better Program and Reach to Recovery.
The just the pure fun you are during something for the right reasons:
Lehigh Acres Relay
