Road Rage in Lehigh Acres
Special Lehigh Acres Gazette, From Wink News and the LCSO report of incident
LCSO deputies arrested a Lehigh Acres man Monday following a weird road rage incident.
Damion Prashad, of Lehigh Acres, is facing charges of aggravated battery and impersonating a law enforcement officer after he allegedly harassed another driver.
The victim and his passenger were driving down Lee Boulevard when Prashad, who was directly in front of him, started “brake-checking” him in his blue Mini Cooper and stopped in the middle of the road, according to report from LCSO.
However, the victim drove around Prashad and continued toward his intended destination at Hope Hospice.
But Prashad followed the victim and when they reached the roundabout at Beth Stacey Boulevard and Business Way, Prashad entered the roundabout in the wrong direction in order to block the victim, deputies said.
The pair then engaged in a heated argument with Prashad, who claimed he was a police officer. He presented his wallet to them as if he was showing a badge, according to deputies.
After they returned to their vehicles, Prashad continued to follow them to Hope Hospice, When they arrived at the entrance, he struck the victim as he was getting out of the car.
The report stated, the victim fell onto the hood, grabbed a hold of the windshield wiper and ripped it from the Mini Cooper. Prashad fled the scene.
The victim only sustained a minor cut to his finger.
No other injuries were reported.
Prashad was released Tuesday on a $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court May 22.
