Rock And Roll To Recovery
Beasley Broadcasting in participation with 96 K Rock are broadcasting recovery in real time. Fletcher P. Henderson and Joy Thomas are hosting the Sunday Morning talk show which airs from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM. With over 20 years combined in the recovery and addiction community, these hosts bring a modern, spirit-filled, thoughtful and honest approach to this historically taboo subject.
According to Fletch, a 19 year veteran in the radio industry, “There is a lot to do and a lot to learn about sober living. We want to open up the forum for everyone who is actively involved in the recovery community.” The radio host adds, “Our audience is from all walks of life. What we have in common are the feelings of hopelessness and despair that plague the suffering addict/alcoholic. We’ll shed the light of hope on those dealing with the darkness of addictions. “We have experience to share regarding drug and alcohol addiction, but the show is also open to other addiction discussions,” adds Thomas, who has been in service to recovery for over 16 years in the SWFL area. “Addiction and alcoholism affect the whole family and every community. No one is left untouched by this disease, so we’ll provide encouragement and support for them as well.”
Rated R for Recovery, the Sunday morning show’s well thought out title, will have open phone lines and open discussions about recovery and other related topics presented in a fun and light-hearted way. “We’ll discuss every topic imaginable,” states Fletch, from getting through the holidays without a drink or drugs, to complacency after years of sobriety.” The show will feature guests in the recovery community, from local participants to well-known celebrities who will openly share their experiences and offer ideas on how to get sober and stay sober. The show has had great response from the local SWFL community as well as celebrities who participate with fun and sobering ideas.
