School To Host
Patriots’ Day Ceremony
East Lee County High School announced it will host an annual Patriots’ Day Ceremony. This is a solemn and dignified ceremony that is hosted by the school’s Leadership Academy students and staff.
For the past seven years, the staff and students have worked together to demonstrate their respect and admiration for those who perished or were injured on September 11, 2001. Additionally, it is an opportunity to show the East Lee County High community that the students and staff hold all of those patriots who have gone forth in defense of our nation in the highest regard.
The ceremony is scheduled for 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012. The ceremony will occur just outside the main entrance of the school at the flagpole. The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) from the Leadership Academy will conduct a color and honor guard for the wreath laying ceremony. The JROTC Brigade Commander will be the keynote speaker.
