Shaking Across SWFL Could Be
Due To 5.0 Earthquake Near Cuba
A 5.0 earthquake in Cuba is suspected to be the cause of shaking reported across Southwest Florida this afternoon.
The Lehigh Acres Gazette began receiving calls and emails about the shaking beginning at 4 p.m. The reports came in from Lehigh Acres and Fort Myers.
U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake with magnitude 5.0 occurred 38km N of Corralillo, Cuba at 2014-01-09 15:57:47 -05:00.
