Three Arrested in
Drive-by Shooting
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three men believed to be involved in a Monday drive-by shooting in Lehigh Acres that sent a man to the hospital.
Angel Luis Salome, 18, Robert Lopez, 21, and Dany Borges-Matos, 19, are facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
Salome is also facing a charge of possession of a bulletproof vest during an offense, and Borges-Matos is facing charges of marijuana possession and resisting an officer without violence.
On Monday around 12:09 a.m., deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 700 block of Roma Avenue South in Lehigh Acres and came into contact with Emanuel Madrigal, 20, who had been shot in the leg., according to a sheriff’s office report.
Madrigal told investigators he was at a house party at a residence on Roma Avenue South and was standing outside when a white four-door vehicle drove up, and someone began shooting from the vehicle.
Madrigal was hit in the leg and was transported Lehigh Regional Medical Center for treatment.
He later told investigators he recognized the vehicle as one used by Salome.
Deputies later located a white Hyundai Sonata that matched the description of the vehicle believed to be involved in the drive-by and pulled it over near the intersection of Sentinella and Bell boulevards in Lehigh Acres.
Deputies found firearms, ammunition and a ballistics vest in the vehicle and took the three occupants into custody.
