Two Lehigh Acres Teens
Arrested For Robbing 7-Eleven
Two Lehigh Acres teens have been arrested and are charged with robbing a 7-Eleven last month.
Names are being withheld due age and the Lehigh Acres Gazette policy on minors were arrested Friday after a student at East Lee County High School alerted administrators that he overheard the two bragging about the robbery and showing pictures of them wearing the same clothing they wore when the robbery was committed, as well as holding the weapon used.
Administrators contacted Lee County deputies after both were caught smoking marijuana at school, the arrest report states.
The robbery occurred Nov. 24. The two were said to have entered the store on Joel Boulevard South shortly before 1:30 a.m. They held the clerks at gunpoint and proceeded to stuff a duffle bag with tobacco-related products, some of which were found inside their homes during the investigation, according to deputies.
Both admitted to committing the crime and were charged with a felony count of armed robbery, the report states.
They were jailed Friday and released the same day.
