Men Charged
With Sex Crimes

Two Lehigh Acres men were arrested on separate sex crime charges Thursday.

The Lee County Sheriff Department said in a press release Keith Garnett Rees, who works as a cook with the Glades County School District, is facing two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim between the ages of 12 and 16.

In the same report, it stated  he was having sex with an underage girl for about two years. He remains in custody at the Lee County Jail on two $50,000 bonds.

Another man, identified as Grady Laverne Merit, is facing a charge of sexual assault by a custodian on a victim between the ages of 12 and 18. Investigators met with the victim at Lehigh Regional Medical Center, and she said Merit had inappropriate sexual contact with her on numerous occasions.

He remains in custody on a $75,000 bond.
