Update to 7-Eleven
Armed Robbery
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help apprehending a suspect wanted for an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 12:14 a.m.on Sept. 3, 2012 at 7-Eleven, 530 Joel Blvd. Lehigh Acres.
Deputies responded to the scene and met with the victim who stated that while on duty at the front register she was approached by a male. The man stated “he was a nice guy but owes a lot of people money,” and then demanded the cash in the register. The victim advised the male that she could not give him the money, to which the man lifted his shirt to reveal a black handgun. The employee then warned the man that she pushed the silent panic alarm. The male immediately ran out of the store empty handed.
No one was injured during the incident.
A perimeter was set up. Several deputies, K9 and aviation units responded to the scene with negative results.
The suspect is described as a white male. He was wearing sunglasses, blue jeans and a blue sweat shirt.
The suspect was last seen driving away in silver Ford Expedition.
Due to the nature of the crime, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
