Veterans Park Academy
Fundraiser Held to Help Student
Veterans Park Academy for the Arts hosted a “Jump Rope for Heart” event.
The fun-filled day raised money for the American Heart Association while promoting healthy living and physical activity.
Ryan Crespi, Third grader at Veterans Park Academy has a heart condition and may need open heart surgery this summer. He says it’s great to see his school step up and help
“Our PE coach is raising money for the heart association because some families can’t afford treatment,” Ryan said.
His mom is a para-professional at the school.
“A lot of the students are doing it for fun, but a lot of them are Ryan’s friends who are actually taking pride in what they’re doing. They’re making a difference and that’s huge,” Crespi’s mom said.
Money raised will be donated in Ryan’s name to the American Heart Association. It will help other families pay for treatment and fund research.
